This afternoon I relocated a 1st cycle Franklin's Gull at the Sturgeon Creek Marina just north of Point Pelee National Park along Bevel line. It was originally seen by Kevin McLaughlin on November 17 and Alan Wormington on November 18. It was flying around with about 100 Bonaparte's Gulls. 20 minutes later I located an additional 1st cycle Franklin's Gull - this one in a flooded field on the north side of Deer Run road, southwest of Wheatley. It was in a flock of 1000 Ring-billed Gulls behind house number 225. While it is possible it was the same bird, I think it is more likely that they were different, considering the distance that would have to be traveled in a short amount of time, as well as the fact that the first bird was with Bonaparte's and the second was with Ring-billed Gulls. Photos of the first bird were taken and will be posted on my blog tomorrow night.
