Birders, Around 8am this morning I had a small cormorant fly east past my condo (near Green Rd. in Stoney Creek on Lake Ontario), but did not have my camera ready and watched it slowly fly away... About 45 minutes later I watched a similar group (~20 Double-crested Corms) flying WEST, containing a similar small bird... This time I had the camera ready (and had a prolonged view) of a bird that appears to be an adult NEOTROPIC CORMORANT...
I watched the bird fly west into Hamilton until out of view... Hopefully with the lack of birds around someone can relocate the bird at a nearby Cormorant hot stop like Windemere Basin or the west end of Hamilton Harbour. Good luck and good birding! My place is at the end of Green Rd. in Stoney Creek, with close exits off the QEW at Centennial Parkway or Fruitland Rd. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
