I normally do not report most owls but this reliable one is safely on
private property (also it is not breeding season...) and I know that *the
homeowners do not welcome trespassers* but *it is easily viewed from the
well plowed shoulder of highway 11*. Do not remain at the side of the
highway too long as there is much truck traffic and you might cause an
accident.

Directions: from Toronto, take highway 11 755 km north, bypassing Cochrane
to the left, travelling north west, and about 10 km west of highway 655,
you will find an old homestead on your left across from mileage marker
755.Scan the tree tops. Be careful not to park very close to the North
Driftwood River bridge. A scope might be necessary but the bird is usually
between 10-60 metres from the fence line (mornings and afternoons) and
easily identified with binoculars.
