The Northern Wheatear at 4000 Milton Rd, Ottawa (south east part of the
City) is still present for its second day.

A number of birders asked about the age / sex of the bird.  The bird is 150
+ feet away from the road and it has been windy and views have been good but
not perfect.

A number of photos have been examined and there seems to be a consensus that
the bird is a fall adult male.  For those with a copy of The Birds of Europe
by Mullarney et al. (Princeton Field Guides) there is a great picture
likeness of the bird on page 265. 

Hopefully the bird will remain for another day at least. 

The Ottawa Convention is less than a week away, we could only hope!!!
