Hi Ontbirders
The Razorbill was still present off Deschenes Lookout along the Ottawa River
Parkway at 3:20pm. It was quite a distance out, likely on the Quebec side of
the river but easily seen with a scope. No sign of the Western Grebe but still
1 juvenile Red-throated Loon, 4 Red-necked Grebe and 1 Horned Grebe. Yesterday,
Oct. 23, observed a Red Phalarope at Casselman Sewage Lagoon.

Directions: Deschenes Lookout is located at the western end of the Ottawa River
Parkway. Britannia Point is located just east of the Britannia Conservation
Area. Follow Cassels Road past BCA and drive to dead end. Britannia Point is
accessible from Britannia Water Filtration Plant
Deschenes Rapids: Quebec side: Take Champlain Bridge north and turn west on
Lucerne Blvd.. Follow to Vanier Road and turn left. Go almost to the end and
then left on Martel. Park at end on right and walk down trail to rapids.Check
east along bicycle path.

Directions: Casselman SL: From Highway 417, 52 km east of Ottawa, take the
Casselman exit (66) and go N toward the town of Casselman. Drive 1.1 km N into
town on Rue Principale, turn right or northeast just beyond onto Laurier.
Follow Laurier northeast, then north, 1.8 km to Concession 5 Road (or Route
500). Turn right or northeast onto it and the road into the Casselman Sewage
Lagoons is on your right almost immediately.
