Hi ONTBirders:
As per David Britton's report yesterday, three male GRAY PARTRIDGES were huddled under a coniferous tree on the front lawn of the City of Ottawa facility on Maple Grove Drive today. For those attempting to locate these birds, check under the coniferous trees carefully, as the partridges are small and can appear as rocks or dirty lumps of snow at first glance. SNOW BUNTINGS could also be heard across the street somewhere in the vacant field. Pat DIRECTIONS: From the 417, get off at the Terry Fox exit and head south. Turn right onto Maple Grove Drive, and the City facility is the next building on the right after the Bell Sensplex. _________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
