A few local birders scanned the Carp River floodplain looking for geese this morning (~9:45-10:45AM). It did not disappoint: amid hundreds of CANADA GEESE were found four GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, four SNOW GEESE (including two blue phase), and two ROSS'S GEESE.
Good birding! Pat DIRECTIONS: From Ottawa, take exit 155 on the 417, turning right or north onto March Road. Head north almost 3.5km, turning left onto Carp Road. Follow Carp Road just past the bridge over the Carp River, making a right turn onto Rivington Street. Park at the cul-de-sac and scan the floodplain from there. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
