There's currently a breeding-plumaged adult Pacific Loon among a loose congregation of about 450 loons on the lake near East Point Park, in the east end of Toronto. They're due south of the shoreline feature that resembles a shallow point. A scope is necessary.
East Point Park is on Copperfield Rd. and can be accessed via Manse Rd. or Beechgrove Dr. in Scarborough. Take the trail south then east (from trailhead adjacent to softball field) or south then west (from parking lot trailhead at Beechgrove side near sewage plant) to get to the "point," but the birds can be viewed from other areas along the trail. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
