Directions: 401 to Simcoe. South to the harbour.

Hello Birders,
The previously reported Pacific Loon is currently present off the end of the
pier at Oshawa Harbour. Photos have been taken, and the bird is close enough to
see the chinstrap field mark.
It is very windy and cold, be sure to dress appropriately.

Molting adult Pacific Loon at Oshawa Harbour seen several times between1 and
1:30. Feeding constantly. Hard to refind. Loons have moved farther out now.
Found yesterday by Dan Kaczynski.
Also 2 Red-throated Loons, several hundred Common Loons and thousands of
Red-breasted Mergansers. Unfortunat

Oshawa Harbour
It is a molting bird. The head is winter plumage, including the
chin strap. There is a large amount of white on its back.
Directions: Exit from the 401 at Simcoe St. (exit # 417). Follow Simcoe St.
south to Lake Ontario.

For those interested, the Pacific Loon, which was at the foot of Simcoe Street
in Oshawa this morning flew east after 11.00 towards Darlington and might best
be searched for from the beach off Second Marsh where it was found yesterday. A
Red-throated Loon could be seen well east of the Simcoe Stre
