This evening at approximately 6:45, while doing some photography in Port Dover (I was at GPS 42.798857, -80.213760, just north of Prospect Street), a flock of sandhill cranes flew over at low altitude, traveling in a westerly direction. They were mostly obscured by trees above me, but identification was unmistakable, and I guessed that there were about twenty birds. I have no idea where they landed, but birders may wish to peruse the fields in the area. Checking Google Maps, there is a large field just west of where I was, and it should be viewable from the L.E. & N. Rail Trail, for which there is a parking lot located off Prospect Street at GPS 42.797432, -80.216164.
My apologies for using GPS coordinates and not actual distances, but I had to return to Toronto and didn't have the time to drive around anymore.
