The 37th St. Clair National Wildlife Area Christmas Bird Count was held on Jan
1, 2017. It was sunny, with fairly light winds and temperatures ranging from a
bit below freezing to a bit above freezing. There was no snow cover.
Much of the count circle is wide open agricultural field, or Lake St
Birders:
The 36th SCNWA CBC was held on January 1. It was cloudy, windy (mostly 35-60
KM/h), slightly below freezing, with light snow flurries off and on all day.
Most water was still open, and there were white-caps on Lake St. Clair most of
the day.

The 34th St. Clair National Wildlife Area Christmas Bird Count was held on
January 1, 2014. Much of the count circle is open farmland, with some very high
quality wetlands adjacent to Lake St. Clair and the lower reaches of the Thames
River.

The 31st SCNWA CBC was held on January 1, 2011. The day began with a lot of
rain, fog and some wind as a result of the unseasonably warm temperatures over
the ice. The afternoon was somewhat better...at least the rain stopped by
