Birders,

Following up on the post from Blayne and Jean Re: Ross Goose in Port
Colborne.

Lisa Teskey and I checked the site this afternoon around 2:30 and were soon
met by Nancy Smith, and were greeted by about 10 Canadas. Knowing that
geese presumably return to the same spots to roost for the evening, we
decided to check a few more spots and return to the reported location a bit
later on.

We did so and at exactly 3:50 PM, a group of about 250 Canadas flew in and
with them the ROSS` GOOSE. It was very accommodating giving excellent scope
views as it puttered about. The bird remained until we left about 30
minutes later,so presumably it will stay to roost for the evening.

Photographs are available.

Birders wanting to view this specimen would do well to be on site at
sunrise or shortly thereafter, before the bird leaves to feed for the day.
Alternately, one could also wait to see if it follows the same pattern of
returning as it did today at 3:50.

Directions as per Blayne and Jeans post, with thanks.

for 26 Km. to end.
