All three scoter species have been observed recently from the south edge of
Sunset Park along the near-shore of Lake Nipissing. Horned Grebe has been
there, also.
Sunset Park is a well known area jutting out into Lake Nipissing within
the southerly side of the city of North Bay. Nort
there was about a 100 white wing scoters and 1 surf on the Niagara river in
front of the fort today. QEW to central, turn rt to Niagara parkway, turn
rt to the fort.

In search of the Pacific Loon, I checked out the parkette on Gray's Road in
Hamilton, this afternoon.
I could not see any Loons, but good looks were had of BLACK SCOTERS and
WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS.
COMMON GOLDENEYES and RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS in smaller numbers as well, quite
close to shore.
Today Gord Cameron and I birded the lakeshore from Etobicoke to 50 Point Road.
At Col. Sam Smith Pk at the foot of Kipling Avenue were 4 Horned Grebes. 4

This morning Pelee had a mini-wave of spring migrants. The tip had an E.
Towhee, a Tree Swallow, a Field Sparrow, and dozens of E. Phoebes.
The parking lot on the W. side near the tip offered a big raft of ducks -
mostly Goldeneyes, Greater Scaup and Red-Breasted Mergansers. But there was
