These birds were not seen at 5:00 pm, but a number of local cottagers told me that the best time to see them is first thing in the morning. That is the time of day that they have been seen for several days in a row. As reported the directions to the best lookout point are, from Smiths Falls turn right on Poonamalie Road, then left on Bacchus Island Rd. Take the left branch when you reach Bacchus Island. Look between the cottages around #44 on that road.
