Thousands of Snow Geese were still present in the flooded fields of Cobb Creek, visible from Russell Road, 3.5 km east of Bourget. However, I saw none along Milton Road, which is much closer to Ottawa. Both areas still have many Canada Geese and some Northern Pintails, more of the latter than last week. One American Wigeon at Milton Road.
A group of 11 Sandhill Cranes was visible on the west side of Milton Road, 300 m south of Smith Road. Some vocalizing was heard. The Cobb Creek site also had one Rough-legged Hawk. -- *www.babina.ca* Robert Alvo Author: "Being a Bird in North America" (2013) Tel.: 613-236-0660 219-140 Mann Ave. Ottawa Ontario K1N 1E5 Canada robal...@gmail.com _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
