Frances and I saw a Snowy Owl at 1:30 today near Bradford, thx to Ron Fleming's post and directions a few days ago. The owl was at the end of Emma road, which runs west from Dufferin near the top end of Dufferin. Once at the end of Emma road, we scanned the fields to the south and southwest and saw the owl through binos (better views of course through a scope).
Earlier, we had gone to Ravenshoe Road at the south end of Keswick. Touring the Ravenshoe field west of Leslie Street, we enjoyed several Horned Larks but nothing else of note until we were driving back toward Leslie St. Once we got to the more inhabited area (e.g. Canal Road, shortly before Leslie) we checked for small birds around some of the homes. Highlight was a surprise Red-Bellied Woodpecker. Good birding!
