A winter wren was beside the washroom building by the lighthouse today, along
with a Yellow-rumped Warbler, which was very near the feeders. There were no
Purple Sandpipers on Gull Island today, but there was a spectacular dark morph
Rough-legged Hawk, as well as a Northern Harrier and 28 Snow Buntings. In
Brighton, in a fruit tree near the Beer Store, I had one Pine Grosbeak.
Finally, at the house with feeders on 15086 Main St. (near Huff Road), there
was a mixed flock consisting of about 160 Brown-headed Cowbirds, 15 Starlings
and 10 Red-winged Blackbirds.
