After the deluge on the weekend which was followed by snow squalls yesterday I was out and about in Carleton Place. First the Ramsay 7 flooded field just north of CP ( extension of Thomas st.) there were 24+ greater and lesser yellowlegs. Next at the O Kee Lee park in CP by the river were a large flock of Rusty Blackbirds, squeaking and squawking like rusty springs. Next in a field at the start of Ramsay 5a (just west of CP on Hwy 7) there were 5 male Wood Ducks enjoying their new above ground pool. Finally at the corner of Ramsay 5a and Quarry Rd a solitary Solitary Vireo was calling. A rather slow spacey call that was not very enthusiastic.
Cheers and I hope as George once sang “..here comes the sun..” Sent from Mail<https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986> for Windows 10 _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
