After the deluge on the weekend which was followed by snow squalls yesterday I 
was out and about in Carleton Place.   First the Ramsay 7 flooded field just 
north of CP ( extension of Thomas st.) there were 24+ greater and lesser 
yellowlegs.  Next at the O Kee Lee park in CP by the river were a large flock 
of Rusty Blackbirds, squeaking and squawking like rusty springs.   Next in a 
field at the start of Ramsay 5a (just west of CP on Hwy 7) there were 5 male 
Wood Ducks enjoying their new above ground pool.  Finally at the corner of 
Ramsay 5a and Quarry Rd a solitary Solitary Vireo was calling.  A rather slow 
spacey call that was not very enthusiastic.
