My Dad, myself and Ellie and Lian Kubisz had excellent looks from the Eastport 
Drive ramp off the QEW at the American White Pelican today afternoon as it 
stood on the middle island in the harbour, just a few feet from the water's 
edge. It still has dark gray feathering at the back of the head, and a bit of 
gray at the base of the bill. The only other interesting sightings we made were 
at Rattray's Marsh, where we counted 85 Red-necked Grebes out on the lake and 
had an Osprey fly over.
