At 1:00 p.m. today, 19 October, at Sobeys Pond in Whitby, there were at least two Cackling Geese (Branta hutchinsii hutchinsii) among the Canadas.
Directions: South on Brock Street in Whitby (not Brock Road in Pickering) to Victoria, right on Victoria to Gordon; right on Gordon (opposite road to Whitby Memorial Hospital), then left on Nordeagle. The pond is on the north side opposite Sobeys warehouse. Bill Edmunds Thornhill
