Last night over ten people showed up at the Visitor's Centre and were not
disappointed to hear both the chuck-will's-widow and a whip-poor-will call
between 9:20pm and 9:40pm.

This morning, a male and female prothonotary warbler were seen on the Tulip
Tree Trail. On the Spice Bush Trail a hooded warbler was seen and off the
South Point Trail a surf scoter was reported. A northern mockingbird was seen
at Beach Access # 11 and another along the Marsh Trail.

During the morning bird hike along the Marsh Trail, both willow flycatcher and
alder flycatcher could be heard and seen. One olive-sided flycatcher made an
appearance at the second parking lot. 5 American bittern were seen and 1 least
bittern was heard along with 15 marsh wren and 2 sedge wren. Only 1 Virginia
rail was headr calling.
