Hello ontbirders,

I have seen few reports of Common Nighthawks this year and had little luck myself when travelling around. In Toronto, it took about two weeks later than usual, but I am finally hearing on a consistent basis, Nighthawks calling from College street and McCaul (one block west of University avenue). I have heard them calling as well in the Dundas and Sherbourne area (though I run through that area at night). Also by my house near Sherbourne and Wellesley street East. So, those wanting this bird as an annual lister can be sure there are some nesting downtown. I have Chimney Swifts outside here at Sherbourne and Wellesley every night as well, and a Peregrine Falcon making rounds every day from the top of the nearby white apartment building on Homewood Avenue. Any questions, please feel free to e-mail me privately.

Good birding,
