This evening (31 August)seemed to be still good for watching Common Nighthawk migration; from 7:00 to 8:15 pm, we tallied 139 Common Nighthawks near the former Keele Valley Landfill in Vaughan,York.
The birds could be seen flying south over the ridge of woods east of Differin Street just north of Major Mackenzie Drive, while a few came low and flew over our heads. Best location was on Alex Black Street @ Sir Benson Drive, a new subdivision. Winnie Poon & Roy Smith Richmond Hill [EMAIL PROTECTED] Directions: From Major Mackenzie go north along Dufferin Street to Sir Benson Drive which is directly opposite the entrance driveway of Eagle's Nest Golf Course; follow Sir Benson to Alex Black Street, the woods can be seen toward the east.
