This morning at 8:15 a.m. I was pleasantly surprised to discovered a
Common Yellowthoat feeding around the edge of the open water under a tangle
of Euomymus hanging over a pond I have in my front yard ... it drank from
pond several times ... then fed for about 10 minutes close to the ground or
in leaf thick leaf litter within a few feet of pond. Because the pond is
open all winter I get a get a good variety of birds here late in the fall
and early winter ... most frequently Winter Wrens.
I'll be out with David Hallett scouting for birds in the upper Credit
River most of day but anyone feel free to come through the open gate and try
to relocate it ... Good Luck.

Directions:
My address is 9 Oakwood North (not south) ... and 2nd house north beyond a
small apartment building. There is a white stucco garage in front of the
house and courtyard garden is between the garage and the white stucco house.
Oakwood is located four blocks of east of Hurontario Street (ie. Hwy. #10).
Hurontario is the main street thorough central Mississauga.
