Trying something new this year by providing the Thermal Updraft Velocity (TUV). We'll be stating this as a single index of 1 - 7 where 1=0-100m/s, 2=100-200m/s through to 7=600-700m/s. The higher the index the better the thermals for raptor flight and hopefully the more migrating raptors you might see. Today's TUV=4 Observations: Well...this is the first day of the Hawk Cliff 2004 Count at the hawkwatch. Not a lot of birds today with a total of just 37 raptors counted of 6 different species. Predictions: E and SE winds are predicted...not the best for raptor flights at the Cliff...still the weather's supposed to be nice. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch: Oldest Hawkwatch in Ontario - since 1931 - located just east of Port Stanley on the cliff overlooking Lake Erie
