Hello Ontbirders Today, April 6, was slower than anticipated at Pelee given the weather. Highlights were my first Hermit Thrush of the year and another look at the Louisiana Waterthrush reported yesterday. Both birds were between post 15 and 16 on the Woodlands Trail (south of the centre). The Waterthrush was at a pond on the north side of the trail. A Merlin at the point posed long enough for a picture. Two Brown Thrashers were also at the point and at 9:30 a flock of 55 Goldfinches made landfall and proceeded along the west side of the point inland. Many Winter Wrens were seen and many Carolina Wrens calliing. Other than that nothing new from the last couple of posts.
cheers, Claude Radley Tilbury
