Hi all, Since it hasn't yet been posted, I'm passing along a message from Bob Cermak who located the heron this morning at 11:30. This will be of interest to Ottawa birders despite the fact that the birds are currently to be seen on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River (but within the Ottawa checklist area), and, of course, the Petrie Islands are attactive to herons too, so it may visit this province too.
A Little Blue Heron was seen from Petrie Island Beach looking across the Ottawa River at the Marais aux Grenouillettes/Lac Carpentier and Petite Baie Clément area, near Angers, QC. It flew in to within 20 feet of the 2 Tundra Swans and thence into the marshes to the north of the river. Directions for, and further information about, these sites can be found on the Petrie Islands, Marais aux Grenouillettes and Lac Carpentier and Petite Baie Clément pages of NeilyWorld's Birding Ottawa site.
