This morning while putting the Garbage and Recyclables at the end of the Drive,I heard a bird singing away as if it were Spring.I looked around at the Hydro wires to discern if it was perhaps a Starling doing some great mimicry. But to no avail there were no Starlings to be seen. I then scanned the overgrown/successional Growth across the road for a glimpse of this Bird. And here not 30 feet away was a Northern Mockingbird, eating either Wild Grapes,Pin Cherries or some kind of Fruit.I had a good look for well over a minute, before it flew toward the back of the property and out of sight in some Cedars. The Gray Body with Black wings and Characteristic White Flashes on it's wings were easily seen with the Naked Eye. Hwy 11 to 5th Line of Innisfil,East on fifth Line past 20 Sideroad, over Train Tracks(very bumpy) to first street on Right(Arnold Street).Approximately across from the 6th House in Overgrown Lot on Left side(across from 1156 )

Yesterday's Snow Goose was still around-a bit beyond the stone "sculptures" in the river just east of the Remic Rapids parking lot. The river is again very low, with much rock exposed. A few pipits could be found, along with some shorebirds, but nothing unusual (both yellowlegs, killdeer). A lateish Chestnut-sided Warbler was in the nearby woodlots, along with other common migrant passerines. The Remic Rapids parking lot is on the north side of the Ottawa River Parkway between Parkdale Ave and Island Park Dr. Paul Matthews, Ottawa From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Sep 20 14:10:15 2005 Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Delivered-To: ontbirds@hwcn.org Received: from smtp101.rog.mail.re2.yahoo.com (smtp101.rog.mail.re2.yahoo.com [206.190.36.79]) by king.hwcn.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 2568A6404A for <ONTBIRDS@hwcn.org>; Tue, 20 Sep 2005 14:10:15 -0400 (EDT) Received: (qmail 80592 invoked from network); 20 Sep 2005 18:17:10 -0000 DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; q=dns; c=nofws; s=s1024; d=rogers.com; h=Received:Message-ID:From:To:Subject:Date:MIME-Version:Content-Type:Content-Transfer-Encoding:X-Priority:X-MSMail-Priority:X-Mailer:X-MimeOLE; b=gURsAIyEgwQcxKRqLsgpnevR0j9Vi3prSsSAmuXqvO2OdYKFdLsyRntIZv9tDBB+vY03LzB6btGoxfRmtpEA18yvMLnkKOfJjNvxWLji4N9Tvn4i3nADFQK2eGiRFmSravPi63N9o6Motql7JUhf4rbmSzIuPTPChcvpfCCsJEw= ; Received: from unknown (HELO subhan) ([EMAIL PROTECTED]@69.194.246.61 with login) by smtp101.rog.mail.re2.yahoo.com with SMTP; 20 Sep 2005 18:17:10 -0000 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: "Brendan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <ONTBIRDS@hwcn.org> Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 14:17:22 -0400 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2527 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.2527 Subject: [Ontbirds]Ruff, Townsend Sewage Lagoons X-BeenThere: ontbirds@hwcn.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 18:10:15 -0000 The Ruff is still at Townsend Sewage Lagoons as of this morning at 11.00 = A.M.
