Hello ontbirders,

Walking about High Park early this morning I heard an Olive-Sided Flycatcher calling from the north-west area of the park. After some searching; I eventually found it on the one dead tree (naturally) along the west roadside (across from the baseball diamond). It was calling quite regularly, accompanied in the area by several Great-Crested Flycatchers.

There were not many warblers about this morning, but two really good ones. A female Golden-Winged Warbler high atop one of the Willow trees behind Grenadier Cafe. Plus, two Blackpolls singing and flitting around the staircase area in the southwest part of the park (leading down to Grenadier Pond). No other warblers really worth noting.

As well, two Caspian terns on the G. Pond and a pair of Wood ducks in the south-east pond.

Good birding,

Jay Peterson
