Hi Everyone Today,October 27,2004, the birding along the Ottawa River continued to be interesting. This morning there were 3 flocks of male Black Scoters totaling 750+ and 4 Red-throated Loons (3 flying over) were observed off Andrew Haydon Park. At the Shirley's Bay parking lot 2 Bohemian Waxwing flew over calling and 2 Snow Bunting were along the dyke. I birded the river an hour before dusk and the scoters were still present flying around and then landing numerous times. At one point they appeared to be leaving, heading south and gaining altitude but again dropped back down to the water. The gulls watching was good with 5 Lesser Black-backed, 1 adult Glaucous and 300+ Great Black-backed Gull. good birding Bruce Di Labio Birding Website Courses and Field Trips http://www3.sympatico.ca/bruce.dilabio/
