At 13:00 on 25 January 2008 I saw a flock of 6 pine grosbeaks on the campus of Wilfrid Laurier University. I heard them call, and looking up saw two perched on the top of a tree; four others flew in to join them. There was at least one adult male among the group; all the others had paler plumage. The sighting was in the middle of the campus in front of the Little House residence (http://info.wlu.ca/wlu-hp/about/maps-2003/little_house.shtml). The WLU campus can be reached by following Hwy 8 west from Hwy 401. At the junction of Hwy 7 and 8 follow Hwy 7 east and continue on to Hwy 85 north. Exit from Hwy 85 at University Ave W. Follow University Ave. 2.6 km to the first set of lights past King St. Turn left onto Mid-campus Dr.
