After a three week period of moving to a new house, working and having a hernia operation, I finally was able to get out birding for a couple of hours with my nephew Justin to get a SHORT-EARED OWL for his life list. We took the 3:30p.m. ferry and easily found 10 SHORT-EARED OWLS at the southeast corner of the island by the KFN property. A SNOWY OWL was also present on the east side of the road. We also found 8 HORNED LARKS and 30 SNOW BUNTINGS along the south shore road. A Coyote and 8 White-Tailed Deer were also spotted.
