Hey Birders, Mike and I checked out Wildwood this afternoon (3pm). Water levels have dropped significantly from a few weeks ago, and a few interesting shorebirds were around today along the 31st Line north of Harrington. We had nine species of shorebirds at Wildwood, with the highlights below.
Long-billed Dowitcher - 2 juvenals American Golden-Plover - 2 Black-bellied Plover - 1 Baird's Sandpiper - 3 We also stopped at the Mitchell/West Perth Wetlands. However the water levels substantially increased due to the rains from Hurricane Ike the other weekend, and much fewer shorebirds are there now. The highlight there was a single Dunlin.
