Hi All,

I know this is a little late but I haven't seen any other notes on this bird.
I went out to "Sobey's" Pond, in south Whitby, on Sunday afternoon and
immediately found the juvenile Long-billed Dowitcher actively feeding in the
pond, no other birds were seen at this spot.

Earlier on Sunday, I did a quick walk out to the drawn-down first inner cell at
the Leslie Street Spit and met up with Andrew Jano and another birder where we
saw an American Golden-Plover, a few each of Black-bellied Plover, Pectoral
Sandpiper, Dunlin, Semipalmated Sandpiper, 2 Sanderling, and 1 Semipalmated
Plover.

Cheers & good birding,
Frank Pinilla

DIRECTIONS:
"Sobey's" Pond is in south Whitby, along Victoria Street (runs parallel to Hwy
401, to the south). The small pond where the bird has been hanging out, is
just north of Victoria, off of Montecorte Street and in front of an Automobile
Parts distribution centre, there is another pond along Nordeagle Ave, in front
of the Sobey's distribution centre, but I only had Canada Geese there on Sunday.

Leslie Street Spit (Tommy Thompson Park) - is at the south end of Leslie
Street, go south from Lakeshore Ave. Park is only open on weekends and
holidays, be prepared for a long walk. The drawn-down inner cell is just after
the split in the road, I took the road to the right but it can be viewed from
either road.
