Hello Ontbirders
Yesterday, March 6th, at 12:30pm we observed the Northern
Hawk-Owl near Almonte. The owl was at 283 Old Union Hall Road, an
earlier location.
On Sunday , March 7 we birdied Algonquin Park and had a good day. At
the Spruce Bog Boardwalk we observed two Spruce Grouse, 3 Gray Jay, 1
Boreal Chickadee and 1 Black-backed Woodpecker. Along Arowhon Road we
had 2 Boreal Chickadee and a few more Gray Jay. Overall finches were
scarce but we saw Pine Grosbeak at both the Visitor Center feeder and
the West Gate and one White-winged Crossbill along Hwy. 60 and another
at the VC. Also along Hwy. 60 we observed a Black-backed Woodpecker at
Km 8.
