Hello Ontbirders

                The Black-headed Grosbeak continues to be observed at
the feeder of Wayne Griese and Karen Richter near Pakenham. The bird was
present off and on today Dec.20, 2003. The feeder can be viewed from the
road.
        The earlier reported (Dec.9) N.Hawk-Owl was observed late
afternoon today near the Almonte Sewage Lagoon and was also observed on
Dec.16 and again on Dec.18. nw of the Almonte Sewage Lagoon at the
corner of Old Union Road and  Ramsay Con. 7.

        Directions: From Ottawa take Hwy. 417 west towards Arnprior and
exit
at March Rd.. Turn left and follow road  to Almonte. Go through the town

and turn right onto County Road 29. Follow road 10 km towards Pakenham
and then turn left on Cedar Hill Side Road and travel 4.3 km until you
reach a " T" intersection. Turn right and follow  6th Con. Pakenham
which turns into Bellamy Road for 2.2km. The house is at 339 Bellamy
Road.
Directions: Hawk-Owl: From Ottawa take Hwy. 417 west of Kanata to the
March Rd.
exit. Follow March Rd. to Almonte. Drive through the town to CR 29 and
continue west on Wolf Grove Road. After passing Almonte Sewage Lagoon on
your right (afternoon location of hawk-owl) turn right on Ramsay Con.8.
Follow to Cameron Road and turn left. Follow Cameron  to Ramsay Con.7
and then north on Con. 7 to Old Union Road. Check near intersection.
