Subject: BROWN THRASHER at HUNGRY HOLLOW. 20,000 SNOW BUNTINGS.

This morning, Pete Chapman found a BROWN THRASHER by the Ausable River on Fossil Road. Directions-- (From the east) Exit 402 at interchange 56, (Kerwood Road) go north to Townsend Line, turn left (west) and proceed to Sylvan Road (app. 5 Km.), turn right (north) and proceed to Fossil Rd.(app. 1 Km.). Walk west along the road as far as the old bridge abutments. Hopefully, the Thrasher is in the Juniper thicket on the hill beside the road. (From the west) Exit 402 at interchange 44, (Nauvoo Road), go north to Townsend Line, turn right (east)and proceed through Arkona to Sylvan Road. Proceed as above.

The SNOW BUNTINGS were densely packed, covering about an acre. This huge flock was moving slowly Westwards towards Nauvoo Rd along the old highway 22.
