[blackbelly] sheep eating the barn

I discovered that my sheep have recently taken to nibbling on the barn, which is made of wood. I've heard that horses can be repelled from doing this by treating the barn with creosote. Does this work for sheep, too? Or are there any other ways to deter them? Thanks, Robert ___
