I noticed the tar commands are missing the appropriate compression options in
Unpacking the Software:
tar -xvf filename.tar.gz
tar -xvf filename.tgz
tar -xvf filename.tar.Z
tar -xvf filename.tar.bz2
tar -xvzf filename.tar.gz
tar -xvzf filename.tgz
tar -xvzf filename.tar.Z
tar -xvjf
