Hi all, Worked with the newest Linux-PAM for a bit and have discovered that much has changed. I'm not sure about functionality yet, as I've not reinstalled Shadow and attempted to use PAM's services. My feeling is that functionality hasn't really changed though.
What has changed is the build method. And more importantly, I cannot get the static libraries to build. In the past we've always passed --enable-static-libpam and it would build static versions of libpam, libpamc and libpam_misc. However, that parameter is no longer available and there is now --enable-static. But this doesn't work because if you use it on a current LFS SVN system, the build will fail. Other than that, things seem to be just fine. I'm going to reinstall Shadow right now, but wanted to get a head-start on feedback from you guys about only building the dynamic libraries. I'm not sure the static libs are even needed. Seems to me every package that links to the pam libraries, does it dynamically. If anyone has any issues about updating Linux-PAM and not including the static libs, please reply with why you think the static libraries are necessary.
