Thanks for your advice, Sergey, and for the patch. snd-virmidi is loading properly now. I'm still unable to compile snd-usb-audio. I'm beginning to think that I've got something very weird going on with my kernel headers. I have CONFIG_KMOD=y in my /boot/config, however when I run the alsa-drivers

I'd like a five-dollar bill for every time that's happened to me! I
could buy a new monitor, at least.

Hi,
In my globals file, I had:
[Locale]
Country=fr
Language=en_US
NegativePrefixCurrencySymbol=false
PositivePrefixCurrencySymbol=false
I think the problem is here. So I changed into:
Language=fr:en_US
I can't check just now, but I think it will work.
Thanks for info, thanks you I think I managed
It worked very well for me, I am using kde for about 3 years, never had
any
problem with localization (except that some parts of apps dont work in some
languages, juk file renamer this time). All I have to do is change the
Country and see the Language order settings in control panel. Th

Hi,
Finally I created /etc/profile.d/i18n:
export LC_ALL=fr_FR.iso88591
export LANG=ifrFR.iso88591
I looked /usr/share/i18n/locales
/usr/share/i18n/charmaps
/usr/share/kbd/consolefonts
/usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386
but there're files for fr_FR, but I don't know what do with them.

Hello everybody,
First of all a bit "Thank you" to everybody involved with the *LFS
projects. I really managed to install X and learn more than expected
;-)
It seems like I'm not able to correctly install the IPW2200 modules on
an LFS 6.1.1 installation.
I'm running a vanilla kernel 2.6.14 which

for your locales you have simply to do:

Hi again,
I meant in my question that I use KDE and its applications. And I did
what I said in the message, and KDE doesn't have its messages in
French. No particular problem for the keyboard, but all the messages
are in English, whereas I'd like them to be in French.
For the app, I only thought th

Hi,
I'm trying to play a little with X. And I can't do 1 thing, so I'd
like to know if you've a solution. Of course, I'm helped by someone,
who reads the screen.
Firstly, the language. I installed Kde-i18n-fr-3.4.1. Then, I tried to
follow what blfs says.
I click on Control Center. I don't find, as

Hi,
Either I give a peace of information, either it's a problem, so tell
me. It seems that to build, OpenHffice depends on gnome-v2s too. I
didn't find it in BLFS development release, but ./configure wants
that.
It says:
