Is there any info in /var/log/Xorg.0.log about the crash? Which program is it bombing on in the splash screen (nautilus, gnome-panel, etc.)? I looked through the whole log and cant find any errors (here is the log: http://laechele.ath.cx/siddian/blfs/Xorg.0.log) Its loading panels, windowmanage
