for me beryl compiled without problems on xfce and xorg 7.0.There were some
problems with aiglx but the folks at opencompositing were very helpful and
sorted it out.
beryl works great with xfce,and ok with kde on my blfs install.i never tried
it with gnome though.
So far as i found out then,pro
I forgot to add that i have intel 965G motherboard with integrated graphics
card.For me,DRI did not work out of the box,and some settings in
xorg.confhad to be manually
tweaked.Maybe thats the cause of the problem.

with an error.

when i rebooted into the lfs system,mplayer played video perfectly.
however,there was no sound.
i tried doing alsaconf,but alsa could not find my sound card.
i might have misconfigured my kernel.here is the relevant section from the

i faced the same problem.the pam.d directory was corrupted and i could'nt
log on.i solved it by booting into fedora,and then rewriting the files in
the pam.d directory from the chroot environment.
this is a much better solution though.rather prevent a problem than fix it!!

i tried recompiling gcc as mentioned in the blfs book 6.2 .gcc was
previously installed as per the lfs book 6.2.
it compiled properly (i did not install GNAT because i did not want ada)(i
did not configure for f95 and ada compilers in the --enable-languages
option).
but when i ran make -k che
sems i posted too soon.i exited from my chroot system.on reentering it gcc was
able to compile dummy.c properly.
i cleaned up the doxygen source tree.this time doxygen also compiled
successfully.
i am puzzled.why did the error happen the first time.and how did reentering
the chroot sysytem solve
ould'nt gcc be able to find ld automatically?
is it dangerous to build packages as root, if the packages are those of the
versions specified in the blfs -book??
