Hi DJ, A Fortran guy just told me he fully agreed with you. He said, other than printers, wireless, games (beyond Wolfenstein) and some ugly (but necessary?) stuff like taxes, banking, shopping and the like, anything you can do in Windows you can do in Linux, and then some (like scripts). However, he was quite surprised when I told him that nowadays, you can install Windows relatively easily too. (On a personal machine, of course.)
