Adding a second workstation

Now that my new LFS system is operational, I can remove the old host and pass it on to my daughter, who up to this point has lived a Microsoft existence. I'm fairly competent with Linux from a server point of view, and I know how to use smbmount to access Winduhs shares... but what do I need to do
