Samba slow to start on boot

I have a system configured with OpenLDAP, OpenSSL and Samba. it works fine, exept it takes ages for smbd to start on boot. The reason for this is that TLS connects from smbd to slapd are being rejected. I don't understand why, as jobs spawned from init should run a root, right ? (the TLS certs c
