due to my error in documenting the required dependencies. You must
install the dbus-glib package. You'll find it in Section 8 "General
Libraries" in the "D-Bus Bindings" instructions.

execute this command:
ls -l /usr/lib/pkgconfig/dbus*
And see what is returned. At a minimum, you should have this:

Just got to gnome-vfs-2.18.1 but it can't find it's dependencies although they
all are installed correctly, to my knowledge. By googling I found a suggestion
that such error was related to popt but I looked and I do have those libraries
in /usr/lib/. All the path variables are set and I've
