xkeyboard problem

Hi. I have a problem with the keyboard configuration of my brand new (B)LFS : (WW) Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap. Then I have no shift key, no Ctrl-Alt-Fn to switch back to a console (forced to kill X, or switch with kdm)... I googled a little, found some similar mess
