This is a classic scam that many unsuspecting computer users often fall for. You may receive an email urging you to download AVG Security 2009 or Super Anti Virus 2009 or some other such similar sounding name from the link in the message. The message is usually signed by a Dave Matthews.

Depends on where you got the avi. I have downloaded some that work fine in winamp and in media player but others either have only video or audio and can have other issues. When I get one that works well, I don't think I needed to get anything special to play them in winamp. - Original
