Hi
I am having troubles getting my vista home addition to switch to new
scanning/OCR software. I was using read iris 11 and decided to upgrade to read
iris 12. Some how in the process the computer decided that I only want to use
the OCR software in single sided scans. I have a scanner that
Ok, I just got my internet back.
What is this defragging program? What does it do? What good will it
do a persons machine when running it?
Finally, where can I download it?

I do not have a Netbook yet, but I would definitely add the extra 1 GB RAM!
As I understand it, either Microsoft or Intel or both require retailers to
only sell Netbooks with 1 GB. It is, however, recommended and advisable to

I did the Auslogics thing. In less than 35 minutes, it did its thing.
And told me there were over 112 files fragmented. Also, unlike the Microsoft

That's good enough for me.
Thanks folks!!

So really not that different, my netbook came with xp preinstalled so I just
nuked my harddrive (also to get rid of all the additional stuff that comes
with it like startcenter, trial versions of antivirus software, etc) and
then put windows 7 on.

Windows 7 Starter is quite good actually. You can't create homegroups,
nor can you change the wallpaper or the background. You can't change
themes either. Or can you; I'm not sure grins.

Could very well be the case. Either way adding more memory will let you do
more tasks because you will have enough memory to fall back on. Oh, by the

I wonder if the sluggishness is because 7 is having to swap memory,
which wouldn't be the case if I upgraded? Jut a thought.

Hi George,
When I run the Windows defrag,
I never hit the analyze button, I just go right to the defrag button, and
let it do it's thing.
There's really no sense in running the analysis, since it's going to run
before the defrag anyway.
I usually don't count on Microsoft to tell me what's right,
hello miche
thank you for that been there and got it
it said £20.44 something so £20/50 is good enough for me
